What are the benefits that students obtain by combining educational robotics with ordinary teaching?
The methods applied in the solution of the proposed challenges can be used by students in all didactic areas and subsequently in working ones:
Produce by iterations and increments, developing one part at a time, trying and developing again educational robot.
Testing and removing bugs, making sure things are working, looking for and fixing bugs.
Recycle and mix, creating something, starting from material created by others.
Abstract and modular, creating something big, putting together a collection of small parts.
Technology has taken on an important role and innovation is going faster and faster, what do you think are the most important skills that a teacher should develop to allow children to understand the value of the changes taking place?
In addition to specific knowledge and skills, the most important attitude to cultivate is curiosity, defined as the ability to understand the changes taking place, in order to guide students by indicating the most suitable opportunities, training them on updated topics, sharing information with passion and contaminating their experiences with those of teachers of other subjects.
Some teachers could play coordination roles within institutions, involving other teachers and educators, and organizing events and fairs for developers and makers.
Through study and experimentation and, in particular, through participation in educational robotics competitions, transversal skills are developed such as:
team work
the research of online sources (mostly in English)
the management of budget
the production of documents and the presentation of projects
photographic documentation of processes
the experimentation of “try, fail, try again”
The v he assessment of results
the compliance with the rules
the competition sports.
The program that strengthens STEM teaching and teaches the real world to the innovators of tomorrow.
Given the importance of educational robotics and STEM subjects within teaching, Sprint Lab has created Digital School , the program intended for lower secondary schools whose goal is to strengthen the teaching of STEM subjects , through the acquisition of the competences of computational thinking. At the end of the training and, once back in the classroom, they will be able to transfer their “know-how” to their students, creating pilot projects to teach them the basics and principles of robotics .
Our goal is to provide all the tools necessary for the application of educational robotics , to allow teachers and students to get involved and unleash their creativity, creating robotics projects in the classroom that find solutions to real and current problems.
